Quick answers to common questions
What happens in the first session?
The first session usually involves discussing your concerns, personal or family history, goals for therapy, and questions you may have. It’s also a chance to see if the therapist feels like a good fit.
How long is a therapy session?
The initial intake session for couples and families is 70 minutes, allowing time to gather background information, understand your concerns, and discuss goals for therapy.
Most therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length, though session duration may vary depending on your needs and therapeutic goals.
Are your services covered by health insurance?
As a Canadian Certified Councelor (CCC) my services are covered under many insurance plans. I recommend checking with your insurance company first to confirm your benefits, and coverage limits.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments can be made via debit, credit, and cash for in-person appointments. If paying by cash, please bring the exact amount, as no cash is kept on-site and change cannot be provided. For virtual sessions, Interac e-Transfer payments are accepted.
Do you offer direct billing?
I do not offer direct billing. Your receipt can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be subject to the full session fee. Please note, insurance companies do not reimburse you for a missed session or a late cancellation.
